Some of the cultural heritage sites along the Pilgrim path through Stange, Hamar and Ringsaker, have been highlighted by installing an information board onsite. Korsvika bay
The southern end of Granerudsjøen lake was since olden times called Korsvika (bay of the cross). Crosses left here by pilgrims, served as signposts. Pilegrimsleden | Korsvika
Stange primeval forest
Stange primeval forest was granted protected status in 1923. It comprises an area of 3,500 square metres. The Pilgrim's Route approaches the forest via the road from Hagalikoia to Romsetra. Pilegrimsleden | Stange Urskog
Korsødegården
The name refers to “Ødegården at the crossroad”. This is where thoroughfares split in olden times either north towards Stange and Gudbrandsdalen, or northeast towards Løten or Østerdalen. Pilegrimsleden | Korsødegården
Feginsbrekka at Ramset (Hill of Joy)

Stange Church
Stange Church from 1250 is a long church built of limestone. The church is one of Norway´s oldest medieval churches, mentioned in 1225 in Håkon Håkonsson's saga. Pilegrimsleden | Stange church (tibe.no)
The Pilgrim´s boat DS Skibladner
In the Middle Ages, many pilgrims came by sea to Hamar and arrived by boat along Mjøsa coastline. Today's pilgrims can follow the pilgrim route across Lake Mjøsa onboard DS Skibladner. Pilegrimsleden | DS Skibladner
Tjuvholmen
A relatively large memorial mound has been found on the southern side of the island. It is easy to see from the approach to Åkersvika bay, and says something about how important Lake Mjøsa was as a transport artery. Pilegrimsleden | Tjuvholmen
Korskirken Church
The ruins of Chapel of the Holy Cross, lies a short walk away from Domkirkeodden. It was the hospital church for the old market village of Hamarkaupangen, built as a hospital church at the end of the 13th century. Pilegrimsleden | Korskirken/hospital church - church ruins
Pilgrim Center Hamar
This visitor and information centre is a meeting point for pilgrims, facilitating pilgrimage walks, both along Gudbrandsdalsleden path and locally. The centre also has a separate pilgrims' hostel , based on self catering. Pilegrimsleden | Pilgrim Center Hamar
The Pilgrim path
The Gudbrandsdalen valley section is 643 kilometres long and it is the longest pilgrimage route in Norway. After Saint Olav's death in AD 1030, pilgrims began making the pilgrimage to his grave in Nidaros. It was natural for both pilgrims and other travellers, to break their journey and stay overnight at St Olav's monastery on the promontory. Prestvegen (the priest's road)
Prestvegen is an old route between Ringsaker and Veldre churches. The route between the two parishes, contributed to contact being maintained between the two communities. Along Prestvegen, you will see the remains of old cotters' farms. It was at the cotter's farm Prøysen, the famous Norwegian poet Alf Prøysen grew up (1914–1970) grew up. Ringsaker Church
Ringsaker Church is a stone basilica and one of Norway´s eldest buildings. It was built in the 12th century and dedicated to Saint Olav. The church's greatest treasure is an altarpiece (triptych) dating from the 16th century. Pilegrimsleden | Ringsaker Church
St Olav's spring
This emergence of water was one of many holy wells in the Middle Ages. The springs could cure various diseases, and were often dedicated to a saint. This is dedicated to St. Olav. Pilegrimsleden | St.Olav Spring
