Hvor krevende en tur er bestemmes blant annet av antall høydemeter (stigning) og lengde på turen. Selv om turen går i flatt terreng, kan den merkes med rødt dersom den er veldig lang. Og motsatt, selv om turen er kort, kan den merkes med svart dersom den går i bratt og krevende terreng.

DAY 1

Arrival Munkeby old monastery. You will be given a showround and the history of the monastery.

After the showround, the trip goes to Munkeby Herberge/Hostel where you will receive a warm welcome by Håkon. You will sample the popular Munkeby cheese produced at Munkeby Mariaklosteret/Maria Monastery, next to the farm. Many believe this is Norway’s best cheese. What do you think? Together with the cheece, you will be served Munkebyøl/beer, made pecifically for the Munkeby cheece by Inderoy Gårdsbryggeri/Farm Brewery.

The evening concludes with a two course dinner and overnight stay at Munkeby Herberge/Hostel.

DAY 2

Departure to Munkeby Mariakloster/Maria Manastery.

You will be attending a prayer service at Munkeby Mariakloster/Maria Monastery, along with the monks in the monastery.

Before the trek to Stiklestad, enjoy a good breakfast at Munkeby Herberge.

Pilgrimage to Stiklestad. The route is part of St.Olavsleden that runs from Stiklestad to Nidaros. The trip takes 4-5 hours, is 21 km long and the terrain is easy to walk in through the woods and fields. The areas you walk through have featured heavily in the Norwegian Viking and medieval times. Upon arrival at Stiklestad, you will be served lunch and a tour of Stiklestad Church, St. Olav’s Chapel and the longhouse Stiklastadir. After a full day, it is great to relax before dinner. If you desire, you can explore Stiklestad on your own.

At night, enjoy dinner and dessert in the plush surroundings of Stiklestad Hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
