For most pilgrims, the trains will be the the most practical form of transport along Østerdalsleden. For that reason, as well as environmental reasons, we recommend traveling by train. Tynset station was opened in 1877 when the "Rørosbanen" railway was completed. Tynset is located 347.21 kilometers from Oslo S and 493.2 meters above sea level.
