Sygard Grytting - an old main farm and a historical site

Situated along Gudbrandsdalsleden
Sygard Grytting is an old main farm and a cultural heritage site, as well as a pilgrim accommodation that dates back to the 14th century

Sygard Grytting is an old farm estate, today functioning as a hotel. Coal pits, rich grave findings dating back to the 4th century, and Viking burial grounds suggests early settlement and powerful families living in the area. Today's owner Halvor Grytting is the 17th generation of the Grytting family running the farm. It has been in the Grytting family at least since 1534, but most likely longer and probably as far back as the 14th century.
