Situated along Kystpilegrimsleia
Sverd i Fjell (Swords in the Mountain)

By Hafrsfjord one can see the famous landmark 'Sverd I Fjell'. It is erected in memory of when Harald HÃ¥rfagre in 872 gathered Norway under one king. The monuments are a symbol of peace, unity and freedom. The hilts of the swords are modeled after swords found in different parts of the country. The monument is made by Fritz Reed (1928 - 2002) and was officially opened by King Olav in 1983. To see the monument, take the 29 bus from the center of Stavanger.
