the distance Smørvikodden - Kapp

From the Kapp church the Pilgrims way follows the medieval road to Smørvikodden. On the way you will pass the old magistrate farm Undesløs from 1860. Smørvika was in ancient times an important port for Toten.

In the 1840s a "kongsbåt" was carryiing senior officials over the lake. Later Smørvika became a steamer stop, ferry place, the center of trade and industrial communities from the 1880s with the rise of the Kapp milk factory. The factory is known for producing Nestlé children milk. Today this area is a popular destination with Toten Økomuseum, dining, sanitation, beach and port of call for Skibladner, the world's oldest steamboat still in operation (1856).

Pilgrims who want to visit the cathedral ruins at Hamar and walking the pilgrims way on the east side of the lake, can take the the waterway with Skibladner, take the rescue boat or be rowed across Mjøsa by a viking ship. Skibladner offer special price (NOK 100) for the display of the Pilgrims Pilgrimage Pass.
