History in Smørhamn

Kong Christian V visited here in 1685, and Kong Fredrik IV stayed overnight with his entourage in 1704. Kong Christian VI was here in 1733, accompanied by Queen Sophia Magdalena. The current royal ship has anchored up nearby for multiple years in a row – so we're just waiting for the royals to drop by for a visit?

Express boat Bergen – Smørhamn

  • 4 hours from Bergen
  • 25 min. from Florø
  • 35 min. from Måløy
  • About a 15-minute walk and less than 5 minutes by bus from the express boat port. We can pick you up along with your luggage if you call. You can also travel here with your own boat.

Here in the buildings, one can also find parts from the old church that stood by the old cemetery in Grotle. The altarpiece from the church on Frøyalandet hangs here. We are happy to arrange a tour of the church if desired.
