Saksvikkorset

Situated along St. Olavsleden, Romboleden

The Sakvikkorset most likely got its name after a cross that stood here in the Middle Ages. Today, both Romboleden and St. Olavleden passes by here.

Local volunteers have been working with this place in recent years. Today there is a 2-3 meter high wooden cross in the same place that it is believed that the cross stood in medieval times. There are also several benches and a bell tower. It is a beautiful place with a view of the fjord in the direction of Trondheim. Here, the pilgrims see the city for the first time.

The cross is erected 100 m into the forest, next to an old burial mound from the Middle Ages. The Pilgrimsleden passes by, but you have to take little detour into the forest to see this historic site.
