The Peer Gynt Farm
Situated along Gudbrandsdalsleden
Experience the home of the historic Per Gynt and 500 years of Norwegian history
Per Gynt-gården is a medieval farm on the hillsides above Vinstra. The historical Per Gynt, the model of Ibsen's play Peer Gynt, is believed to have lived here in the 17th century.
The farm dates back to medieval times and Norgard Håga, the farm's original name, is thus one of the oldest farm estates in the Gudbrandsdalen valley. The estate consists of 17 listed buildings which each gives a glimpse of 500 years of Norwegian history.
The estate received the St Olav's Rose, the hallmark of Norwegian Heritage, in 2010 and has been rated as one of the top 101 resorts in the world by TATLER Magazine.
