Østre Toten is a municipality in the Toten region in Oppland county. It is home to 14 000 residents and Oppland's largest agriculture municipality. They are among Norway's largest producers of potatoes and onions, something which is reflected by the potato plant in the muicipality's coat of arms.

Kapp is Østre Toten's largest urban area and Kapp Milk Factory once were the municipality's largest employer. The old factory buildings are today used as a venue for various cultural exhibitions and houses Mjøs Museum. The area is a popular destination during the summer and Norway's oldest and only steamboat still in use, DS Skibladner, docks in Kapp while it sails on the lake Mjøsa from May to August.
