Today's church built in brick was consecrated on 27 November 1861. It was rebuilt after the old church burned down in one of the largest fires in Moss's history. The church that burned down was a church from the 1770s. There was a cemetery around the church – at the end of the 1870s, the cemetery was converted into a park.

Moss church underwent a significant renovation in 1929 and was decorated by the painter Enevold Thømt. The stained-glass windows are made by Oluf Vold-Thorne and Borgar Hauglid. The baptismal font is from 1861.

In 2015 – 2017, Moss church went through extensive rehabilitation inside. The result was a modern church space surrounded by 150-year-old venerable constructions in wood and brick.

Moss church is an arena for many cultural and social events. For the program, see the church's website. At the church you will find information signs with a map of the pilgrim trail.
