Mjøskastellet

Mjøskastellet (Mjøsa citadel) which is located on Steinholmen was built by Håkon Håkonsson around the 1230s as a defense measure in turbulent times. This was another well-known landmark for pilgrims. Currently the ruins are the only visible elements of Mjøskastellet and you would have to go to the islet to be able to see it.

Parts of Steinholmen is listed as a nature reserve.
