Lillehammer Art Museum is considered one of Norway's most important art museums and is situated in the middle of downtown Lillehammer. The musem's collection consist of several highlights from the last 200 years of Norwegian art history. Works from Johan Christian Dahl, Adolph Tidemand, Hans Gude, Christian Krohg, Erik Werenskiold, Frits Thaulow, Edvard Munch and many more are exhibited here.
The museum has its own store where you'll find everything from local handicrafts to books, and a café where you can enjoy delicious food in architectural surroundings.
As the first art musum ever Lillehammer Art Museum was selected Museum of the Year by Norwegian Museum Association in 2008.
