The road between Granavollen to Tingelstad old church is an old road. The gravel road is narrow with steep hills.

It is difficult to determine the age, but the road was much in use already in the Middle Ages. One of the Pilgrim Ways to Nidaros went here. From the 17th century, the road is referred to as the Bergenske King's road and is one of the main roads between the capital and Bergen. Until the 18th century the road was only useable as a riding path.
