Welcome to Jørundgard – a medieval farm in the middle of Gudbrandsdalen, surrounded by history, nature and old roads.
Jørundgard was built for the film adaptation of Kristin Lavransdatter in 1994, based on Sigrid Undset's world-famous novel. Today, the farm is a living Viking and medieval center with historical buildings, a stave church and accommodation in authentic surroundings.
Jørundgard is located along the pilgrim route, and for pilgrims we offer simple and affordable accommodation in a dormitory in a traditional log house inside the medieval farm. Here you rent a single bed in a room where several people sleep together – a social and down-to-earth offer for those of you who are on a hike.
The accommodation is simple, rustic and historically inspired, with shared bathroom and toilet in a separate building on the site.
It is possible to buy breakfast and dinner at discounted prices for pilgrims.
We also offer accommodation in double rooms, family rooms and Viking-inspired glamping tents for guests who want a little more privacy or comfort in historic surroundings.
