Simple and cheap accommodation for pilgrims in medieval surroundings
Jørundgard Medieval Centre is a unique attraction in the Gudbrandsdalen valley. The beautiful medieval farm was built during the production of the movie Kransen in 1994. Kransen is based on Sigrid Undset's novel Kristin Lavransdatter, and is one of director and actor Liv Ullmann's most acclaimed movies.
Jørundgard consists of 16 houses and one stave church. The site is situated next to Rondane, in the middle of Norway's national park area, with Høvringen as the closest natural gem. The Centre's hostel offers simple accommodation for pilgrims. Self-catering apply so remember to bring your own food and sheets or sleeping bag. Its adviced to arrive between 1600 - 1800. Please book in advance.
