At the path

Hovin Church was built on the site of an earlier stave church. The gateway into the church ground can be traced back to the middle ages and has been there since the 14th century. The altarpiece is a gift from Lieutenant Rasmus Hansen from 1675. It was originally in the earlier stave church.

The pulpit from 1675 was also first in the stave church. It was carved by the same sculptor who made the pulpit, altar and baptismal font in Holter church. It's a typical piece of Baroque art.
