Bronze Age rock art are figures carved into the rock surface. No one truly knows why the Bronze Age people made these images, but some believe they are connected to religion. Maybe the spirals are supposed to represent the sun? And boats represent the journey to the underworld? What we do know, is that Hafslund must have been an important place in prehistoric times. The rock art sites are attended to by archaeologists every year, and information signs are located by each panel. The rock surfaces are very fragile, and does not handle being stepped on.
