Hellberg is a small farm that came into the family in 1918, when Ida Kaspara and Johan Arnt Myraunet bought the mill on the open market. They were people of faith who were part of the Haugian movement, and it was important for them to have "God's blessing" over their lives and work. This view of life is still with the family today.
Johan Arnt and Ida soon began producing raspberries for sale, which they transported by boat to Trondheim to sell on the square. It was likely what kept them in business over the hard 1920s and 30s. Since then, there has been a tradition of berry production (strawberries and raspberries) on the farm, and in recent years it has been expanded to include fruit production. The farm has its own fruit and berry press, and home-produced honey, confectionery, processed fruit and berry products, as well as apple juice, are sold right here on the farm.
In 1996 we started a small business for tourist, which today consists of 6 boat sheds, approx. 25 caravan/motorhome/tent pitches, a small marina with 8 boats for hire. In addition, Mastua (the food house) on the farm has been restored and is now used as accommodation for tourists. It has one bedroom with 3 + 1 bed in the attic. There is also rooms for 2 people to sleep in the living room. Before the pilgrim house above the apple orchard was realized (2016), Mastua was the only accommodation for pilgrims. Fjordbuene, that is mainly rented out by the week in the high season, can also be used if need be. All accommodation units have a bathroom/wc and kitchenette.
Welcome as a pilgrim to Hellberg! This is a place that is full of life in the summer season, and we hope and believe that you will have a pleasant and memorable experience here!
