Ersgard

The farm Ersgard is more than 250 years old, and is loacted 700 meters east of Mælen bridge, where the St. Olav path crosses the Stjørdal river, between Trondheim and Stiklestad. The farm has two different levels of accommodation with different service level and price.

The cottage Smia is used for pilgrims only, from May 1^st to September 30^th. The cottage is located by the Stjørdal river, 150 meters walk from the farm. It has 4 beds in the main room, so you might end up sharing room with strangers. You need your own sleeping bag in Smia. Smia has a very simple kitchen/cooking area, but no water. Bathroom/shower, power for charging and wifi is available at the farm.

In the Main House rooms are ready made with linen and towels, ideal for those who travel light or want a bit more luxury. The house also has a washing machine available. Some rooms have access to full kitchens, so please let us know in advance if you want to make or your own food. Bathrooms are shared. The house is open all year.

Both Smia and Main House guests are welcome to order our soup dinners, self-service breakfast and lunch wrap.

Ersgard is located in Stjørdal, just 5 km from train stations, Trondheim airport and shops. There are trains to Östersund, Oslo/Trondheim and Verdal (Stiklestad). You are welcome to stay at Ersgard also before or after your pilgrimage to ease your travel plans.
