Ersgard Farm is more than 250 years old, and is loacted 700 meters east of Mælen Bridge, where the St. Olav trail crosses the Stjørdal river, between Trondheim and Stiklestad. The farm has two different styles of accommodation with different standard and price.

The cabin Smia is available for pilgrims only, from 1 May to 30 September. The cabin is located by Stjørdal River, 150 meters from the farm. It has 4 beds in the main room, so you might end up sharing room with other pilgrims. You need your own sleeping bag in Smia. Smia has a very simple kitchen/cooking area, but no water. Bathroom/shower, power for charging and wifi is available at the farm.

In the main house, beds are ready made with linen and towels, ideal for those who travel light or want a bit more luxury. There is also a washing machine available in the house. Some rooms have access to kitchen, so please let us know in advance if you want to cook or your own food. Bathrooms are shared. The house is open all year round.

Both Smia and Main House guests are welcome to order our soup dinners, self service breakfast and lunch wrap.

Ersgard is located in Stjørdal, just 5 km to nearest train station, Trondheim airport and shops. There are trains to Östersund, Oslo/Trondheim and Verdal (Stiklestad). You are also welcome to stay at Ersgard before or after your pilgrimage, if you have left over time.
