Borge Vestre (burial site)

At the burial site at Borge Vestre, there are four round burial mounds. Several of them got a small pit at the top. This indicate that the mounds have been plundered.

Disturbing of burial mounds are luckily not that common today. The pits at Borge Vestre are most likely almost as old as the mounds themselves. The centuries after the mounds were built, the knowledge about what kind of artefacts the people was buried with was still relatively fresh in mind. At the sign near the site, you can learn more about plundering of graves and superstition around ancient graves.
