Borgarsyssel Museum holds an extensive collection of old artifacts and items, connected to the history of the city. In addition, there are about 20 old buildings at the museum that gives a real insight into Østfold's history from medieval to present time. The museum was built in 1924 and is located by the ruins of Nikolas Church from 1115. In 2016, the new building, Olavs Hall, was opened, along with the lookout tower, from where you can see the city of Sarpsborg from 32 meters up.
